Aussie social media users have been left stunned by one family’s very unexpected experience with five cows.
A recent Facebook post revealed how the home owners from the US state of Montana were gobsmacked to discover that the animals had moved into their house – without anyone noticing.
It’s believed the cattle had been living in the newly-built residence for four weeks before they were detected, creating an enormous mess in the process.
The owners of the home had yet to move into the house, meaning the animals were able to live happily with no human interference.
In the social media post, it was claimed that cows were presumed to have gained entry to the home during a bad storm.
“A handful of cows found their way into a newly built home and lived in it for a month before being noticed,” the Facebook post read.
“The family was moving from Washington. The aunt was supposed to be checking on the place, but she didn’t.
“A rancher had filed a report about missing some cattle and even checked their barn, but not the house.
“They think a bad storm sent them looking for cover. They also think the storm blew a door in or somehow one of the cows nudged one open.”
A photo shared by the home owners shows a cow lurking in the background of a room inside the home.
The image also shows the unbelievable damage caused by the cattle inside the new residence, with the floors and walls thick with mud or cow pats.
The pic caused a huge reaction on an Australian Facebook group for cleaning enthusiasts, with many stunned by the enormous mess.
“Imaging cleaning this up …” said one.
Added another: “OMG knock it down and start again, there is no coming back from that.”
Said one more: “You would have the gut the house and start again!”
