Tragically, Jill Jacobson, the adored actress who starred in Falcon Crest and Star Trek: The Next Generation, has died.

Dan Harary, the celebrity’s longtime pal, reportedly passed away from a chronic illness.

Fans of Falcon Crest and Star Trek: The Next Generation will be saddened to learn of the death of actress Jill Jacobson. The actress, who was born in Texas, is most likely best known for her more than 20-episode appearance as Erin Jones on Falcon Crest.

Jacobson made a significant impact on audiences worldwide with his roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Died on December 8

She was raised in Dallas and Beaumont, Texas. Following graduation, she decided to pursue a career in acting and relocated to Los Angeles, where she earned her first significant job in 1977 as Nurse Sherri’s main character.

As an executive producer for films like The Circle and the 2014 short film Mic Whore, Jill demonstrated her artistic abilities in addition to her performing career.

Dan Harary, a longtime friend of the actress, confirmed her death and broke the heartbreaking news to The Hollywood Reporter. He disclosed that following a protracted illness, Jill died on December 8 at Cedars-Sinai’s Culver West Health Center.

Reflecting on her loss, Dan said, “She will be deeply missed by numerous relatives, friends and her beloved dogs, Benny and Kowalski.”

As of yet, the Falcon Crest star’s cause of death has not been made public. We do know, however, that Jill’s friend Dan Harary attested to the actress’s death following a protracted illness.

Jill disclosed that she had received treatment for esophageal cancer in September 2024, calling the process “extremely difficult.” Jill endured the illness for more than two and a half years.

“What I went through was pretty intense. You can’t function; you just can’t function,” she said while appearing on the YouTube show The Jim Masters Show.

Although it wasn’t always easy, she was able to transform the heartbreaking medical diagnosis into something constructive.

“It’s been a secret. Kind of took me out of the game for a while,” she said. “It was esophageal cancer. It took like two, two and a half years of treatment.”

Jacobson became an enthusiastic volunteer and advocate for the American Cancer Society after receiving a cancer diagnosis. The Independent claims that she received multiple honors for her lobbying work.

“And now I’m so grateful; I just want to keep going; I want to help people. It makes you want to help people,” she said.

Regretfully, Jill Jacobson passed away at the age of 70. Entertainment Weekly received confirmation of the devastating news from her manager, Ben Padua.

”We are incredibly sad to say goodbye to our beautiful, soulful, hysterically funny, elegantly raunchy client, Jill Jacobson,” Padua shared in a statement to EW. ”Jill was a total spitfire of an actress with comedic timing straight out of a Marx Brothers’ flick and Hollywood glamor right from its golden age.”

Even after her death, Jill’s brilliance and passion will endure. Fans can anticipate seeing her one final time in the 2025 release of the television series Merrily.
