Will Smith Shares New Photo of His Genie Transformation for ‘Aladdin’

The actor, who plays Genie in the live-action version of Aladdin, promoted the movie on Instagram on Friday by flaunting her gorgeous hair and a lavish outfit.

“#Aladdin is still playing in theaters! “How are you going to resist this?” he said as the post’s caption.

In the picture, Smith was portraying Genie, the mythical being that transforms into a drag queen during the movie’s “Prince Ali” musical number. He gave the place the name “Agrabah,” after the made-up nation where Aladdin and Princess Jasmine reside.

The sequence remained faithful to the Genie portrayed by Robin Williams in the first animated picture.

Smith, 50, previously posted a behind-the-scenes video of his Genie-inspired cosmetic process on Instagram, mocking Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Jenner, the creator of Kylie Skin.

“These are my beauty secrets and tips.” He quipped, “I don’t want Kylie Jenner stealing my stuff.”

on the video, Smith demonstrated how to apply foundation using a revolving brush head and other products while seated on his beauty chair.

“The aspect of not being able to play Genie [anymore] that I detest is eyeliner,” he remarked. “I adore donning eyeliner. Do you not think my eyes are beautiful?

According to Box Office Mojo, since its May release in theaters, the film Aladdin, which stars Mena Massoud in the lead role and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, has taken in more than $251 million domestically and $626 million internationally.

Smith expressed his enormous pride in the movie’s choice to depict Jasmine as a self-determining feminist to PEOPLE during its Los Angeles premiere.

“The Princess Jasmine character additions are the number one [thing] that I am proud of,” he remarked. The notion that her persona aspires to be dominant. that she doesn’t see why she can’t be the next in line to lead the kingdom because her father is a single father.

Scott, on the other hand, gave Smith the benefit of the doubt, telling PEOPLE that he had the entire crew and cast laughing on set and would even treat them to special food trucks.
