James’s routine day took an unexpected turn when he saw his son Liam crying in the attic. As James rushed to comfort him, he had no idea a long-hidden secret in their house was about to come out.
The story began in 2018 when deer damaged the family’s arborvitae trees. While preparing to replace them, they noticed something strange between the trees on the east side of their yard. At first, they thought it was an electrical box, but it turned out to be much more puzzling.
In May 2018, when landscapers came to remove the damaged trees, they discovered the metal box was actually the entrance to a massive hornet’s nest. Surprised by its size and the odd noises, which sounded like a struggling car engine, James and Liam believed something significant was hidden inside.
James called a hornet control expert, but the specialist refused to deal with the strange hive in the attic. After contacting several pest control companies, he was advised to wait until winter. Frustrated by the loud noise and worsening situation, James decided to handle it himself.
He put on protective gear and tried to remove the nest, but was stung by hornets many times, making him feel very uncomfortable. In an effort to protect his family, Liam bravely used a smoker to calm the hornets temporarily, accidentally revealing something shocking inside the nest.
James knew Liam was brave, but he was concerned for his safety. This caused an argument between him and his wife Emma about the troubling situation.
